Thank you for your interest in swim lessons!

My name is Doug Hoyne, I’ve been teaching swimming in the Hamptons since 1989.  I began  teaching swimming lessons that year as the swim instructor for the Hampton Day School, when we bussed the campers to Long Beach in Sag Harbor to dodge the jellyfish!!  That same summer I began teaching private swim lessons to some of the students and have since offered private swim lessons exclusively.

I have extensive experience with swimmers of all ages.  I have coached High School and Junior High School swim teams, as well as club teams.  I am a Red Cross certified lifeguard instructor and conduct classes to train new lifeguards during the winter months.

During the winter I teach high school in the Lake George area. I am a New York State Certified teacher and have earned National Board Certification in Social Studies. I understand how children think and therefore how they learn.
